Activity Short Description
For the lovers of Birdwatching in Kenya and to get to see nature in its true raw form, then a trip to Lake Bogoria is a must during your stay at The Pelican Lodge. Only a few minutes drive from the Lodge and you will be awed as you walk in this Lake shores.
It’s been said that the fresh water springs of Lake Bogoria are what attracts the huge number of birds to the Lake. On a good day, the Lake is coloured pink from the thousands of flamingos that nest on the shores.
If you have your binoculars at hand, you will not miss to see the Fish Eagle as it flys majestically looking for its prey on the lake. The gazelle, zebra, baboon and the greater kudu have made this 32km lake their home and you probably will wish you could too.
It is still volcanically active and that is evident along its western shores that are lined with spouting geysers, spurting steam and bubbling geothermal pools. You can actually boil an egg in the geysers.
Your time at the Pelican Lodge should have this as part of your day’s activities.
